In this conversation

We meet Raphaëlle Monvoisin, a designer and photographer drawn to the Far North. After several years in Iceland, she moves to Norway with her partner, their baby and seventeen suitcases.

She talks honestly about her journey, the sometimes difficult process of settling in and the language barrier. There are moments of wonder too: distinct seasons, Oslo’s forests and children skiing at kindergarten.

We discuss motherhood, work, loneliness, resilience and the small pleasures of Nordic life, with humour and warmth.
